Achi strolled through the aisles of provisions stores in Ajah market; it was the time of the year when she had to spend more time in this section of the market searching for suitable tomato substitutes. 

It's July again, and the price of tomatoes is almost triple what they were in February, and when available in the market, they sometimes cost more than all the other vegetables she buys. Every time prices sky-rocket, she has an internal battle with herself about whether or not she should scrap tomato-based meals from her shopping list for the three months that the price is unbearable. But Achi has no other choice; tomatoes are a necessity for her palette. 

How can she stay away from jollof rice or stew for three whole months? Never!
