One Stears Business piece I’ve read many times is called Corruption will not kill Nigeria. In this article, Preston, our CEO, writes about the other problems that plague our country, apart from the usual suspect—corruption. 

Negligence is one of such problems and has led to many Nigerians’ death and permanent disability in the past. You may have heard the story of the woman who went into a hospital to have an elective surgery (one she chose to do out of her free will) and died days later because the hospital did not have the required machines to care for her. 

Or the story of a baby who contracted HIV during a blood transfusion in Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). 

Mistakes like these cost people’s lives, but they are not new in Nigeria (or anywhere in the world, for that matter).
