It’s 2021, a COVID-19 vaccine is ready, what next for Nigeria?

It's January 1st 2021; the final hours of the new year holiday, and after what 2020 was like, everyone is bent on squeezing the last bit of enjoyment before something else happens.

In the same breath, Nigerians are hoping they did not contract Covid when they threw caution to the wind while enjoying their December. 

They reminisce on how the world was only beginning to hear about the SARS-CoV-2 virus around this same time a year ago; how it broke healthcare systems and crashed economies—separating people from their workplaces and friends.

Everyone yearned for a vaccine—they dubbed it as the saviour back then. 

Over 170 research teams started the work to produce a vaccine. Towards the end of 2020, we saw preliminary results from vaccine trials.
